Weekend Update
This past weekend was actually a restful one. The party went great! We sold almost $1,000 worth. Not as many people showed up as planned, but still I think we had a great turnout. The consultant was quite happy with the results. After the party, our guys were all hanging out at Dalton's (country and western dance club) and asked us to meet them. They weren't leaving for their fishing trip until Saturday afternoon, so they all decided to hang out since our party was for the ladies only. After cleaning up the leftover food, piling in the bathroom to attempt managing our hair and spraying on too much perfume we were out the door to Dalton's.

The parking lot was packed!! We made our way through the crowd and located our guys. They seemed happy to see us. After dancing a few songs, I was so ready to go home. There is nothing worse than being a nonsmoker and leave a bar/club feeling and smelling like you have smoked a carton! Does it bother smokers? I guess I was just so tired because of preparing for the party. Not to mention on Fridays I work from 6:30am-3:30pm. That could be it. I left before Matt because he was playing pool with his friends. I couldn't stand not breathing, so I opted to leave just after 45 minutes and paying a cover charge to get it. A shower was definitely in order after arriving home. I don't even remember Matt coming home. I was wiped out!!!

Saturday morning:
A phone call from the ex asking when he could bring the dog home or when I could pick him up. He dogsat for me since I thought the guys were leaving Friday afternoon and I had planned to stay at Karri's house. I asked him if he could please bring him home and I would give him leftover food that I had brought home from the party the night before. After cuddling for a few minutes, I decided it was best I get up and start my day. I don't know why, but I really thought Matt would love a chili cheese dog. I didn't know he wasn't feeling so hot....he seemed fine. I made him three of them. He maybe took 3 bites and said it wasn't tasting so swell.

Allen and Ash got there with Jackson. Jackson was thrilled to see us. After Matt and Ashley had their usual wrestling match, they left with cheese dip in hand. Matt made some phone calls about their trip and I climbed back into bed and turned on Lifetime. I watched a movie or two and then decided to watch The Notebook since we had rented it last week and had yet to watch it. Matt was in and out of the room so I was hard for me to concentrate on the movie at times. Just as it was ending, my brother showed up to pick Matt up for their trip. I was bawling like a baby at the end of the movie and they both were fighting back the tears. Wow! I think that is my new favorite movie now!

After they left, I crawled back into bed. I tried to take a nap, but Karri called and wanted to know what time I was coming over. We decided we would do something since our guys were out of town. Angela, Karri and I went to dinner and then went back to Karri's house for a while. A great idea came to mind....."Let's all call our husbands/fiancee and see which one of them will answer." I had already heard from Matt and knew they had made it to their destination. He sounded like he was already pertaking in the beverages. At 9:08 we all three call and all of us get voice mail. All of us left messages.....then we plotted our next phone calls to be every 10 minutes, then started talking about sexual experiences with our men.... I heard Angela's phone do something wierd, looked at it, and saw that she had never hung up from leaving her husband a message. Her message was almost 5 minutes long! That means the guys would hear us plotting our 18 more phone calls and not to mention.....our sex talk. After we realized what we had done, we figured the guys would think they were one up on us. Several calls were made with no response from any of them. Apparently they were all having a hell of a time. I had the grand idea of texting Matt something really erotic. I did get a reply from that: sounds good and hello to you. We figured we'd leave them alone and let them have their fun after that.

Sunday morning:
Had to work. I sooo wanted to stay in bed. It was cold and rainy outside. I'm glad I did decide to work. I actually had a great day. It started out slow, then after church let out, we were slammed. During the craziest hour of work, I went to wait on a table like normal. I saw a little girl, probably 6 or 7 years old. I approached them and asked if I could get them something to drink. It was a mom and her little girl by themselves. I could tell by looking at them that they didn't have much. You could tell by looking at them that even though they were wearing old, dirty clothes they were so happy. I got their drinks and came to bring them to their table. The little girl asked me what my name was. "My name is Mandy, what's yours?" "Rennee and her name is Paula." "It's so nice to meet you Renee." I really didn't have time to stand around and visit, although I love to do that. It was just so busy and I had several other tables to tend to. They ordered a small catfish dinner to split with rice and brown gravy. After their food came, I checked back to see how everything was. Renee had eaten almost all of the gravy and I commented on what a great eater she was. I told her to give me just a second and I would bring her a big bowl of rice and gravy. Her eyes lit up when I returned with it. She licked her lips and said thank you five times. I was really surprised when the mom, Paula said they were going to split a peach cobbler with icecream. I brought back their ticket and told them what a joy it was waiting on them. Their total ticket was $14. I was standing at the table next to them taking their order and Rennee walked over to me and handed me their ticket with $20. I finished up taking the new tables order and told Renee and Paula that I would be right back with their change. She told me, "I don't want any change." I was surprised. Just as I was coming out of the kitchen to check on my tables, I saw Renee and Paula standing in my section. At first I thought something was wrong and maybe she had re-thought her tip amount. But she didn't say anything like that. Renee came running up to me and gave me another $5 bill. I looked at Paula and said she had already given me plenty. She smiled at me and said that I was such a blessing and she appreciated me taking the extra time to visit with them. I thanked them both again and Renee wrapped her arms around my waist giving me a great big hug. That made my day! I will always remember those two.

After work, I picked up Ash at her dads, came home, took a hot bubble bath, climed into my favorite pajamas and started watching Lifetime again. I did manage to change the sheets and fold some laundry between the commercials. I can't remember the last time I actually had such a lazy weekend. It was fabulous! Matt got home around midnight and he was absolutely worn out. The weather was horrible and they had to fight the crashing waves on the boat. He said he is so sore. He said his mouth was even sore from the crashing waves on his face. They only caught 4 fish, 3 were keepers. Even though the weather was crummy, he said they all had a great time.

    1) Even though it's our fault, smokers also hate leaving the bar smelling like a cigarette.

    2) Your friend's gotta get a flip phone. It only took once for me to figure that one out.

    3) Great work story!
