Why do the weekends fly by?? This past weekend was perfect! The weather was glorious and it was just a great weekend. Saturday was the band auction and my good pies were a hit. One of them sold for $17 dollars and the other went for $23. The scrapbook basket was still going when we left, but was at $45 dollars.
We went to my boss's church yesterday because they were accepting him and his family as the associate pastors and really wanted us to be there. I'm the only one from our office who showed up. It kinda disappointed me a little because Friday about 10 people said they were all going. He did great. He actually preached. He was really good. He was very happy we came. Now, those people hug everyone. Right when we came in the door, there was a lady waiting to hug us. The sermon was short and sweet. We were out of there by 11:45am. Ashley wanted us to grill since she thinks we only grill when we don't have her, so we went by the store and got stuff to make shish-ka-bobs and burgers. She helped me in the kitchen cutting up the vegetables. It was her first time cutting onions and I'm sad to say this, but it was so funny watching her. She couldn't breathe, her eyes were watering and she finally ended up on the floor hunched over asking me if it was normal to be feeling like that. "Yup." I doubt she will volunteer to cut onions again. Lunch was great. Matt sure knows what he's doing on the grill. After lunch Ash and I sat on the couch to watch a few episode of Bringing home Baby. After the first few minutes, if there wasn't a cute baby, she would delete and go to the next episode. She said, "mom, I'm serious, you better have a cute baby." Now I'm feeling all sorts of pressure from her.
She and Matt went and played basketball with his weekend warrior group and when they returned home, Matt could barely walk. He called in to take a personal day today. He's doing stuff around the house.
I think I'm going to make enchiladas tonight. I've been craving them.
This WAS a great weekend. I'm so ready to be tan...
